It's fun to surf the Internet and in doing so you can find all kinds of great gift idea's that you don't usually find at your local stores. Here's a few we ran across.
"Thinking Of You Gift" is by making gifts in a jar that you you have made yourself.
You can find beautiful glass jars all over the place! Flea markets or even an old jam or jelly jar that you've washed up and saved. Even regular canning jars can be made very special once you ad the ribbon and homemade label. A great special touch is to tie on one of your favorite noodle recipes that the pasta inside can be used for. These gifts turn out very beautiful and it's a real... gift from the heart.
Getting uncommon or hard to find dry pasta is a real treat! Funny and fun shaped pasta's are a chore to find so if your lucky enough to find them in store in your area.....you better stock up on them. Most of us are not lucky enough to have that specialty pasta shop just around the corner so we have to plan ahead and keep our eyes open for those special shaped pasta's at all times. Once we know what a fantastic gift it can make, then we can be ready to snatch them up as soon as we see them.
The great thing about dry pasta is that it lasts for a longggggg timeeeeee. So we have plenty of time to work on our "Gifts-In-A-Jar" projects.
Plus-- It's Cheap to make too!
Have lot's of fun with these projects and be creative. One of the things that I like to do when I give a pasta jar gift, is to tie on a pasta spoon or small size ladel on the rim of the jar.
A nice pretty jar full of hard to find pasta.......... a recipe attached........ and a pasta utensil tied on the rim........ with a nice raphia bow and your good to go!

Macaroni products are made from semolina and water.
Noodles are made from Durum flour (a more finely ground form of semolina), water and, by Federal regulation, egg solids. So, without the egg solids, a pasta product can't be identified as a noodle.
Because people often equate eggs with cholesterol, noodles are sometimes mistakenly singled out as a less healthy pasta choice. Yet one two-ounce serving of uncooked noodles, or the equivalent of one and one-quarter cups of cooked noodles, contains 70 milligrams of cholesterol - 23 percent of the U.S. Government recommended Daily Value. Some noodle-shaped pastas are "Yolk-Free" and contain only egg whites and are cholesterol-free....... continue reading.
