In honor of all the Halloween Recipes, this page is dedicated to Spooky foods that are molded.
Brains Brains Brains Please!
Brains are fun to have at spooky dinner parties because they are so gorey and disgusting. For each dip recipe you find, brings a new color for your brains. We like a grayish greenish color for our brains so we think this cumumber recipe works great for that. A pinkish color is a top pick as well like the Salmon Brain Cheesrball recipe. Most cheeseball recipes work best when served with crackers but this cucumber recipes works great when served with veggies.
1 small package (3 ounces) cream cheese
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped cucumber
thinly sliced unpeeled cucumber
Combine cream cheese, onion, and finely finely chopped cucumber. Add small amount of half-and-half until mixture is consistency your looking for. Add salt to taste. Garnish with cucumber slices.
Makes about 1 cup of dip.
This dip is a Christmas Eve tradition with our family but works great for all Holidays.
2 small jars dried beef, minced
16 ounces cream cheese
8 ounces sour cream
1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 cup chopped pecans
Combine all ingredients except pecans, transfer to a baking dish. Top with pecans. Bake at 300° for 30 minutes. Serve with assorted crackers and chips.
Brain Molds work great if you have one or shape your brain by hand. To form the brain you must make sure that the recipe that you use is thick and cold so you will be able to shape it with your hands.
Form two balls, one for each half of brain then press together. Use damp hands to smooth the surface. Use a skewer to etch out the lines of the brain using a picture for reference. It's ok if it's not perfect because that just makes it look more disgusting.
Halloween is all about eating food with gross-you-out names or foods that look spooky, gorey or gross- and we have to say that this fits just perfect for a gross-you-out food.
