You may be having a party that doesn't require Invitation and a simple ring of the cell phone will do. But if you do want to send out Invitations; here's a few tips.
Make sure you send invitation at least 2 weeks before the party. If it's a wedding, it's is typically mailed six to eight weeks before the wedding date. • See Wedding Invitations for more information
Everyone needs time to prepare for your party. If it's a costume party they need time to find a costume or design one. But don't send out so far in advance that the guest will forget the parties coming up. When you pick your invitations be creative. Depending on what type of party your having, have some fun with your invites. Keep in mind first impressions will entice your guests, so be creative.
• Use "RSVP" so you get an actual attendee count.
• Let people RSVP by email as well. After all, most find it quicker than snail mail.
• Loose confetti in the invitation: it's popular but some like it and some don't!
• If you're planning a dinner party include the menu and if it's sitting down or buffet style. Sometimes this helps the guest decide what to wear believe it or not!
• Include a map and directions: Is the party being held at your house? Do these people know where you live? Is the party being held somewhere else? Do they know it's not going to be at your house and do they know how to get to where the parties going to be?

Interesting examples of how people invite guest to parties
Invitations don't always have to be paper and ink. Use your imagination and come up with something unique. Listed are a few of our favorite. •
•Jack-o-lantern Invitation - This is a perfect idea for a fun fall party or a Halloween party. For each family you invite, sneak a lit jack-o-lantern on the porch of the invited with a small battery candle inside instead of a candle. The idea is to leave the pumpkin on the porch so they find it and for safety purposes, a battery candle is the best. Pin an invite card to the outside of the jack-o-lantern or better yet, stick it in the mouth of the face. Your guest will get a big kick out it and you'll have fun sneaking them on the porch too.
