Vegan related observances are a big deal! Vegan holidays are celebrated all over the world in one form or another. National Vegetarian Week, UK Vegan Week and World Vegan Day which takes place each year on November 1st.  World Vegetarian Day is also celebrated in October-  Our calendar also has a National Vegetarian Day as well.

What is this Holiday for?
To honor and enjoy the vegan diet and lifestyle!

Origin of this holiday:
World Vegan Day is a vegan holiday celebrated since 1994 on November 1 - the anniversary of the creation of The Vegan Society.

The 2004 event marked the 60th birthday of the society, and the 10th anniversary of the holiday. The 2005 event had as its theme 'TYPICAL VEGAN' to celebrate diversity and to show the world that there is no such person as a typical vegan. World Vegan Day is celebrated by vegans around the world.
