National Cake Holidays
There are countless cake recipes; some are bread-like, some rich and elaborate, and many are centuries old. Cake making is no longer a complicated procedure; while at one time considerable labor went into cake making (particularly the whisking of egg foams), baking equipment and directions have been simplified so that even the most amateur cook may bake a cake.

What are these cake holidays for?

As you can see from all the National Cake Holidays listed above... we love cake!! Somewhere at sometime, someone thought each of these cakes needed recognition for being a great cake. On National Cake Days it's traditional to celebrate by baking that particular type of cake for that day. Many cake shops and bakeries will honor the cake holidays by doing that as well. If you don't have the time to bake it yourself just go down to your local bakery and see if they celebrate the cake holidays. If they do, get you and your family a cake and enjoy in it's special flavor with a nice glass of milk or a hot cup of coffee. The two drinks that go best with cake don't you think?

How to Celebrate Cake Holidays:

You can go all out by hosting a cake party or you can go all cozy and serve cake and coffee to a selective few.

Get the ladies together and have a "Batter Bake" day. What is a batter bake day you ask? It's a full day of baking cakes while sharing quality time with family, friends or club members.

Bake 2 cakes - ask a couple over and you cut one cake to share and you give the other cake to your guests to take home.
Cake is often the dessert of choice for meals at ceremonial occasions, particularly weddings, anniversaries, and birthdays.
