  National Strawberry Shortcake Day!
In honor of all the National Food Holidays, this page is dedicated to National Strawberry Shortcake Day! Make all your celebrations a delicious experience; by learning about Strawberry Shortcake & the holiday named in it's honor!

When is National Strawberry Shortcake Day ?  June 14!

What is National Strawberry Shortcake Day?
National strawberry shortcake day is a day we honor the old time favorite cake called the shortcake. On National shortcake Day it's traditional to serve you and your family shortcake for dessert on this day. The most popular way to eat a slice of shortcake is with fresh strawberries in juice or sauce with cream on top. It's very common though to serve shortcake with any other fruit that you may have. Bananas, peaches, blueberries, blackberries raspberries will all work on top of a shortcake just fine.

Did you know that besides on National Shortcake Day this yummie dessert is the #1 dessert that is traditionaly served on July 4th, the Independence Day Holiday!  Yes in deed it is. In the United States just about every 4th of July cookout will have this cool and refreshing dessert on the table. Many times blueberries are added to the red strawberries to make the dish "red, white & blue" symbolic for the holiday colors.

Origin of this holiday:
Our research did not find the creator, or the origin of this day. We did however find that this holiday has been celebrated for years. There is plenty of documentation to support that this holiday does indeed exist.

This holiday is referred to as a "National" day., as all food holidays are.   However, we did not find any congressional records or presidential proclamations for this day. Even though we didn't, this is still a holiday that is publicized to celebrate.
So have fun with it and celebrate it!

How is this holiday celebrated?
