We've all had weird friends before. Sometimes it's easy to deal with them and keep them under control. Then there are the other times when they're just embarrassing. This article is about how to deal with those friends.

1) - Act normally around them. Sometimes these friends will follow your example - if you're acting like a normal person, they will, too.

2) - Talk to your friend about past times when they've been acting a little too stupid. Explain in a nice way why you didn't feel comfortable, but make sure you do it in a nice way. e.g "Remember when you started singing really loudly in the corridor? If you don't mind me saying, it was a little uncomfortable for me." Hopefully your friend will take on board what you are saying, and try to act a little more normal.

3) - If your friend is in mid swing of a 'weird moment' try and change the subject or get them talking about. For instance, if they are singing loudly in the middle of the corridor, you could try saying, "What are you doing after school today?"

4) - Don't be too mean about your friend if you talk about them behind their back. If they find out, they might become insecure, which will cause them to become even weirder. Don't go on and on about how odd they are, either. If someone says, "Your friend is such a freak," you could say, "I know that sometimes she/he can be a bit random, but she/he is a really good friend anyway."

5) - Once your friend has realised that they sometimes act a little weird, be nice about it, e.g, "There's nothing funny about being weird, and there's nothing weird about being funny." Or, "I don't see anything wrong with being weird."

6) - Eventually, your friend might take it in their stride and even make jokes about being weird. e.g, they might say, "Out of the way, weird person coming through!" Encourage your friend as much as possible. They will really appreciate it in the long run.

Warnings
• If your friend ever starts trying to do something dangerous, try and stop them, but don't get involved. You don't want to get hurt.
• Don't be too rude to your friend. He/She might start complaining that you're picking on them.
