Dance Party:  A dance party is a social gathering where people dance. Dances may be casual, such as at a party, or they may be an organized event, like a school dance. Dances commonly take place during the evening, although some occur earlier during the day; such events are formally known as tea dances. -Dance parties may be held in private houses, bars, nightclubs or community centres where the guests informally party to dance music.

Doof Party:  The slang term doof or bush doof refers to a type of outdoor dance party in Australia, generally held in a remote country area or just outside big cities in surrounding bush or rainforests and similar to raves or teknivals, but with a different, more empathetic atmosphere. Doofs generally have live electronic artists and DJs playing a range of electronic music, commonly Goa and psychedelic trance. -The attendees of doof party events tend to be members of the drug community and practitioners of alternative lifestyles. In contrast to the alcohol and amphetamine based urban parties, doofs are centres of LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, cannabis and other psychedelics.

A Fête champêtre was a popular form of entertainment in the 18th century, taking the form of a garden party. This form of entertainment was particularly popular at the French court where at Versailles areas of the park were landscaped with follies, pavilions and temples to accommodate such festivities.

While the term is derived for the French expression for a "pastoral festival" or "country feast" and in theory was simple form of entertainment in practice, at least in the 18th century, a fête champêtre was often a very elegant form of entertainment involving on occasions whole orchestras hidden in trees, with guests sometimes in fancy dress. Thus the simplicity of the event was often contrived. A fête champêtre is very similar to a Fête galante although this term is generally more confined to the idealistic fête champêtre as depicted in art.

Floatopia is a social event that has taken place in Santa Barbara, California since 2004. Floatopia was originated in 2003 by UCSB students Yvonne Foletta and Christina Troutner. Between 2004-2007 it had a relatively small following maintained by UCSB club soccer members Chris Arreguin and Joe Ferreira. These years attendance usually maxed out with 500-1000 participants.

Participants consist primarily of college students. The title "Floatopia" describes the main activity the event is known for—floating on rafts and other home-made or store bought floating devices along the coast and partying on the beach. Floatopia has drawn college and highschool students from all over California, although it is patronized largely by students from the Santa Barbara City College and the University of California, Santa Barbara. The title also references the word utopia, the state of ideal perfection.

A Foam Party: is a social event in which participants dance to music on a dance floor covered in several feet of suds or bubbles dispensed from a foam machine. -
Participants may wear bathing suits or beach attire, snorkeling goggles, sunglasses, and shower caps. Many participants arrive fully clothed, and some then partially disrobe as the party progresses, while others remain fully clothed. -
Generally, foam parties occur at nightclubs, dance clubs, or private parties.

A Free Party: is a party "free" from the restrictions of the legal club scene, similar to the free festival movement. It typically involves a sound system playing electronic dance music from late at night until the time when the organisers decide to go home. A free party can be composed of just one system or of many and if the party becomes a festival, it becomes a teknival. The parties can be thought of as autonomous zones where all the people present create and enforce the rules.

The Full Moon Party is an all-night beach rave that takes place in Haad Rin on the island of Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand on the night before or after every full moon. - The modern event has become a part of the itinerary of many travelers to Asia. It is characterized by unruly and potentially dangerous attractions such as fire skipping ropes, wildly variable alcohol strength 'buckets', and a drug culture. It is seen by many as the "ultimate party experience", although drug laws are still strict, and police enforcement is stepped up during the parties.

Fundraising Party:  A fundraising party, or fundraiser, is a party that is held for the purpose of collecting money that will be given to some person or to some institution, such as a school, charity, business, or political campaign. These parties are usually formal and consist of a dinner followed by speeches or by a presentation extolling whatever the money is being raised for. - It is very common to charge an admission fee for parties of this kind. This fee may be as high as several thousand dollars, especially if money is being raised for a political campaign.

House Party:  A house party in the English-speaking world is typically a type of party where medium to large groups of people gather at a house or apartment of the party's host. In modern usage, a house party is typically associated with teenage or young adult crowds, loud music, dancing, and the consumption of alcohol. Historically, the term has also referred to more genteel gatherings at country estates, lasting anywhere from several days to weeks.

Housewarming Party:  A housewarming party may be held when a family, couple, or person moves into a new house or apartment. It is an occasion for the hosts to show their new home to their friends. Housewarming parties are typically informal and do not include any planned activities other than a tour of the new house or apartment. Invited family members and friends may bring gifts for the new home.

A Hurricane Party is a social event held by people in the coastal United States who live in hurricane valley between Maine and Texas. The event is held during a hurricane just as any other party would. However the guests are typically allowed to stay with the host for 3–5 days (weather permitting) and guests, in return, bring hurricane supplies such as radios, food, etc.
